web 2.0 workshop

FYI If you have access to Greenbush workshops and want to know more about blogging, there is a workshop scheduled for Monday, Dec. 14th. It is being taught by Melinda Tilley. I've taken her workshops before and she is very informative and personable. Here is a description of the workshop:
You've heard the phrase, but what is web 2.0? This hands on session is designed for beginners and will explore all that is web 2.0; starting with the basics: What is Web 2.0 and why is it important in the classroom? Participants will set up their own blog, discover the power of PLN (Personal Learning Networks) and find resources to use in their classroom. **Please bring a laptop if one is available.

  1. As a librarian, I am required to do professional development once a month and it is usually hard for me to find opportunities that are library media specialist or technology related in our district. We are allowed to pursue professional development opportunities outside of the district with prior approval so I am thinking of checking this out. It would be something that would be very relevant. Thanks for the information!
